Wonderware , a business unit of Invensys , announced Monday the appointment of Rick Bullotta as vice president and chief technology officer. Bullotta will report to Mike Bradley, Sr., president of Wonderware.
Previously a vice president with SAP in Exton, PA, Bullotta was responsible for research activities in the “future manufacturing” area and coordinated product management of SAP xApp Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (xMII). He also represented SAP on various industry standards organizations including ISA-95, the Manufacturing Interoperability Guideline Working Group and OPC.
Prior to that, Bullotta co-founded and served as chief technology officer of Lighthammer Software Development Corporation, where he was responsible for the company’s conceptualization, development and marketing of Web-based software products targeted at the manufacturing industry. At Lighthammer, Bullotta identified a new market segment for “manufacturing intelligence” software products and established Lighthammer’s presence in that segment.
“Rick has been very successful in conceptualizing and implementing advanced software technology within SAP and Lighthammer, and I know that he is looking forward to the challenge of leveraging the significant opportunities which have been created at Wonderware and directing future technology and software strategies,” Bradley said.
