Aerodyne, a division of Abanaki Corporation, produces the VHT High-Temp replaceable duck bill sleeve for the Vacu-Valve, an allegedly low-cost, low-maintenance dust collector valves available. The VHT sleeve is heat resistant in temperatures up to 400°F/200°C and offers excellent resistance to aggressive fuels and chemicals.

The Vacu-Valve is reportedly a more cost-effective solution than rotary valves for particular applications. It operates as a constant discharge valve for dust collectors, hoppers, cyclones and other equipment operating under negative pressure. Its duck bill design purportedly allows it to dispense dry, free-flowing material continuously and, unlike rotary valves, has no moving parts to maintain. The low-maintenance Vacu-Valve reportedly requires no lubrication or power source and has no controls, whereas rotary valves require a power driven motor, making the Vacu-Valve a cost-effective solution. It’s ideal for "keep empty" dust collection units and is available in either carbon steel or stainless steel versions. The replaceable duck bill sleeves are also available in neoprene or white nitrile, making the unit suitable for general use, high-temperature, or abrasive material applications.

The Vacu-Valve is typically used in industries such as mining, foundries, cement, pharmaceutical, dry foods, plastics, chemical, and manufacturing.

Aerodyne Vacu-Valves are an efficient and economical solution for emptying particulate from dust collectors and bag houses. Aerodyne offers a range of valves, including rotary, double dump, slide gate, and knife valves. The material-handling valves are one of the longest lasting and durable in the powder and bulk handling industry.
