Turbine seal reduces steam losses

GTS seal for general-purpose impulse steam turbines reduces leakage by several orders of magnitude when replacing split carbon rings. This reduction lowers energy costs, improves operating efficiency, and decreases the amount and cost of makeup water treatment chemicals. Curtailing condensation in the bearing chamber reduces bearing lubricant contamination and extends bearing life, which lowers maintenance costs.
