By Bob Vavra June 9, 2009

June 4 marks 100 days until the entry deadlines for Plant Engineering’s Product of the Year and Top Plant awards. Entries are now being accepted ahead of the Sept. 11 deadline, giving suppliers and plant managers a chance to get their entries in order.

Awards will be presented at the 2010 Plant Engineering Manufacturing Summit. More details on that event will be available at the 2009 Virtual Summit , which is June 30.

The fifth annual Top Plant award recognizes outstanding manufacturing facilities around the world. Plants are judged on their record of safety, energy efficiency and productivity, and the best facilities will be recognized in the December issue of Plant Engineering. This prestigious award is given to just a handful of top facilities, and the 2009 contest will recognize global manufacturing facilities as well as those in the United States.

The entry form is extensive , and plant managers should begin working on it now for submission by Sept. 11.

The 22nd annual Product of the Year awards honor the top new solutions available to help plant managers run their facilities safer, mroe efficiently and more effectively. Entries are available in 17 categories, covering maintenance, electrical, mechanical and automation solutions. Gold, silver and bronze awards will be presented after Plant Engineering readers vote on the Product of the Year nominees in November.

The entry form is available here .
