Problem: Is there a simple way to test for a leaky air or gas valve?
Solution: With the valve closed and air pressure applied to the inlet side, put a wet paper towel over the outlet opening. Moisture in the towel forms a water seal and adheres if there is no leakage. Any appreciable leakage prevents the towel from sealing. If there is no seal, the valve needs repair.
