Signaling an improving business environment, U.S. and international attendees registered in near-record numbers for ProMat 2005-the material handling and logistics industry’s premier trade event. The Show and Conference is sponsored by the Material Handling Industry of America (MHIA).

Participation in ProMat 2005 matched ProMat 2003 at just over 36,000. Attendance represented decision makers in virtually all manufacturing, warehousing, logistics and distribution industries. Reflecting the growing global nature of the event, attendees from outside the United States at this year’s ProMat represented 85 countries and six continents. They were welcomed by ProMat’s International Visitors Center.

“Having ProMat on a single show floor added a dimension and excitement to the event that we have not seen before. In addition, the economy, having taken a substantial upswing since ProMat 2003, led to more buying and selling opportunities at ProMat 2005,” said John Nofsinger, CEO of MHIA. “Visitors and exhibitors agree that ProMat 2005 was a success for them. Attendees came to ProMat 2005 not just looking for solutions, but ready to buy and implement them. And exhibitors brought not only their best solutions, but a team philosophy towards their efforts–again indicative of the economy’s upturn and of a very successful ProMat event.”
