Problem: Is there an easy method for removing thin brass internal bushings from cylinders?
Solution: Use rosebud torches for small cylinders or electric resistance blankets for larger sizes to heat the brass to 450-500 F. Upon cooling, the brass is easily removed without damaging the outer cylinder. The method works on bushings from 4-40 in. ID, 3-38 in. long, and 1/8- 1/4-in. thick.
