Sinochron motors, rated at 0.25-10 kW, eliminate the need for an encoder in medium accuracy applications. The motors exceed EPACT 1 efficiency in fractional horsepower sizes and deliver 25 to 40% higher efficiency, depending on operating range. Applications include stair and truck lifts, crane drives, powder-coating machines, packaging machines, industrial doors, and hydraulic pumps. Enclosed in aluminum housings, the motors use a three-phase stator winding with a rotor that has permanent magnets embedded in the stack, which provides a complete sinusoidal magnetic field and even flux distribution through the motor.
