picoprox sensors provide compact housings with sensing distances that exceed ferrite core sensors, especially while sensing non-ferrous metals. The sensors feature stainless steel housing and weld field immunity for use in harsh duty environments, such as tool and die, welding and metal forming applications. The technology not only provides extended sensing ranges for all metal types, it also features an integrated pre-damping protection function to reduce the metal-free mounting area in applications. This allows traditionally flush mounted sensors to be recessed by half a turn for increased mechanical protection. Non-flush mounted sensors may be embedded in metal up to the outer edge of the thread on barrel style sensors and on all four sides of rectangular style sensors, causing only a slight reduction in sensing distance. All sensors are 3-wire dc, 10-30 Vdc, with PNP normally-open or closed; or NPN normally-open versions. Cable options include M8 picofast or M12 eurofast connections.
