Let’s be reasonable

I am writing in regard to the "Human Side of Engineering" case, "Reasonable Accommodation Under ADA: To What Extent?" (PE, November 1997, p 31).

I am writing in regard to the “Human Side of Engineering” case, “Reasonable Accommodation Under ADA: To What Extent?” (PE, November 1997, p 31).

It is an interesting case and I do not totally disagree with the final decision not to repair the elevator. However, I wonder if the company had really gone far enough in trying to accommodate the disabled employee. How about an inexpensive motorized cart for the employee to use while in the building? Even the grocery and discount stores have them available today.
