Ralph Keller, a longtime leader and innovator in manufacturing processes, has been named president of the Association for Manufacturing Excellence.

“As North American manufacturers struggle to compete with inexpensive overseas labor, it has become paramount that they streamline operations and run a Lean enterprise,” Keller said. “I look forward to helping AME raise awareness of how important efficiency is to the success of a company in today’s marketplace.”

Throughout his 35-year career, Keller has helped dozens of companies implement and benefit from global sourcing, Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma. He also has experience in mainline manufacturing functions such as purchasing, engineering, personnel and ERP systems. He has been a member of AME for the past 15 years.

Additionally, he has been named to the board of directors for the ChicagoManufacturingCenter.

“I am also pleased to be named to the board of directors for the ChicagoManufacturingCenter, which plays such an important role in promoting manufacturing within the Chicago area,” said Keller. “We need to keep working with companies to drive innovation and have an open exchange of ideas to help grow our economy.”
