Three winners were selected from a field of entries in Kaman Industrial Technology’s contest to determine the best use of Dow Corning’s hot melt silicone sealant. First prize was a $200 Visa gift card, a hot-melt applicator and a Kaman jacket.

The winners are:

1st Prize: Karl Hester, Winfield, IA

2nd Prize: Frank Sanford, Fred, VA

3rd Prize: Charlie Peters, Cleveland, TN

The winning entry from Hester stated: “We are a paper converting operation using Lenox sheeters to cut paper to 12 inches x 18 inches, 8.5 inches x 11 inches, etc. After a sheet has been cut, it is carried by green belts over rollers to trays for collection to a preset count. Over the top of these green belts we use an elastic band as a belt to hold the paper down to the green belts. Regular hot-melt does a poor job of making a seamless belt and I think this would be a great application for the Dow hot-melt.”
