The TYPE IVE mechanical isolation valve guards against the passage of hot particles, glowing embers and flames. It remains open until receiving a signal from either a pressure responder or an optical sensor that detects hazardous substances; it’s designed to close in milliseconds. Equipped with a wear indicator in its bladder, a liner wear alert activates a message on its controller if the bladder is exposed to abnormal wear. Available in sizes ranging from 4 to 16 inches normal diameter, the valve is actuated by compressed air.
