Invensys announces asset performance management solution

By Plant Engineering Staff October 10, 2005

In an effort to build a link between the operations and maintenance side of plant operations, Invensys Process Systems announced Oct. 5 its new asset performance management solution designed to put both sides of the plant productivity equation together with the same information.

“I believe this is a pivotal day for Invensys Process Systems,” said president Mike Caliel. “What I think you’ll see from us is a more continuous rhythm as we build this model of asset performance management.”

Caliel said the new asset performance solution allows both operations and maintenance to operate off the same platform, and in a cooperative fashion. “In the past, asset availability was the domain of maintenance departments and asset utilization was the domain of operations,” said Caliel at the Invensys Process Systems Customer Conference in Houston. “However, maximum asset value is derived by balancing asset availability and utilization in a manner that best meets current business objectives.”

The component-level solutions will help manage field devices, such as instrument, valve and loop monitors, and system level solutions designed to manage plant alarms and process control networks.

Invensys plans a further rollout of the asset performance management system at the ISA Expo in Chicago Oct. 25 through Oct. 27.
