The Plant Engineering Cost Index (PECI) increased a scant 0.1% for the second month in a row. There was, however, activity within certain sectors of the facilities and equipment groups. Among the most significant price drops within the facilities index were copper-based alloy rod, down nearly 4% between February and March, and plywood prices, which fell by 1.4%. The most noteworthy fluctuation within the equipment group was lubricants, which increased by 2.1%, but are still 4.5% below year-ago prices.
