Hannover Messe USA to debut in 2018
Co-located with IMTS, newly-branded show will build on German trade event.
In an effort to “leverage the power of the Hannover Messe brand,” Deutsche Messe will rebrand its successful co-located show at the 2018 IMTS Show as Hannover Messe USA.
The announcement on Sept. 6 is one year ahead of the 2018 IMTS event on Sept. 11-15 at McCormick Place in Chicago, which has grown attendance since Deutsche Messe launched the Industrial Automation North America (IANA) event in 2012. IMTS as a whole is the largest North American manufacturing trade event, and Deutsche Messe’s involvement has brought the automation, motion, drives and controls audience to the existing IMTS customer base.
“As a brand, Hannover Messe has been steadily adding to its acclaim in the U.S. market, in part thanks to the country’s Partner Country showcase in 2016—a momentous event attended by President Barack Obama,” said Deutsche Messe managing board chairman Dr. Jochen Köckler. “By launching Hannover Messe on U.S. soil, we hope to attract even more exhibitors and visitors to Chicago while also generating positive spin-off effects for Hannover Messe at its home base in Hannover, Germany.”
From April 23 to April 27, 2018 in Germany, Hannover Messe will feature Mexico as the Partner Country and will feature five parallel shows: IAMD (Integrated Automation, Motion & Drives), Digital Factory, Energy, Industrial Supply and Research & Technology. It will also be co-staged with CeMAT, the world’s leading trade fair for intralogistics and supply chain management.
Hannover Messe USA will feature IAMD USA, Industrial Supply USA, ComVac USA and Surface Technology USA in Chicago. CFE Media, which has partnered with Hannover Messe USA since its inception, will present the Global Automation and Manufacturing Summit (GAMS) on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 11 a.m. CFE Media is the official media partner of Hannover Messe USA.
