The Clark-Reliance Corporation has published guidance to the ASME Section I Boiler Code as it pertains to the use of magnetic level gages to indicate boiler water level. Clarifications to the ASME Code for remote level indicators require a special configuration for magnetic level gages (MLGs). The standard use of a MLG from most gage manufacturers may result in a Code violation and a safety hazard. It includes the 2015 Code changes and CSD-1 requirements as well as recommendations from Section 7. The guidebook lists the most common non-compliant drum level equipment arrangements and recommended solutions.
