PowerGenix , a maker of nontoxic, high-performance rechargeable Nickel-Zinc batteries, will adopt SigmaQuest ’s SigmaSure quality management software as a key tool for the company’s ongoing corporate quality initiative.

The green battery industry’s acceptable failure rates are said to be some of the most stringent of any industry. To that end, SigmaQuest’s suite of on-demand solutions will enable real-time insight to PowerGenix’ manufacturing operations. Using the solutions, PowerGenix can more readily assess and maintain the quality of products and processes, and make necessary adjustments prior to product shipment.

According to Dan Squiller, CEO, PowerGenix, “Whether PowerGenix’s Nickel-Zinc batteries are powering consumer electronics, tools, or electric vehicles, it’s essential we deliver dependable performance. With SigmaQuest’s SigmaSure offering, we can identify, diagnose, and correct material and process issues in real time to ensure our products meet rigorous internal quality and reliability standards.”

SigmaSure will be implemented at PowerGenix’ high-volume manufacturing facilities and product development center in China—as well as its R&D center in San Diego—in a SaaS cloud computing configuration to easily integrate the system with existing operations.

SigmaQuest CEO Nader Fathi explains, “As visibility and quality are imperative for PowerGenix and its customers, we are very excited about our multi-year engagement. Moreover, our agreement ties well into SigmaQuest’s focus to help developers of mission-critical product offerings detect, predict, and avoid quality problems.
