Gordon R. Parker retires from Caterpillar board

Caterpillar, Inc. has announced that Gordon R. Parker has retired after 10 years on its board of directors.

“Gordon is a renowned businessman and leader in the global mining industry, and he provided Caterpillar with invaluable guidance during his tenure on our board,” said Jim Owens, Caterpillar chairman and CEO.

Parker is the former chairman and CEO of Newmont Mining Corporation, where his career spanned 40 years. He retired from Newmont in 1995, the same year he joined Caterpillar’s board. Most recently, Parker served on the audit and public policy committees of the board.
