GM to close truck, SUV plants
Strategic shift away from gas-guzzlers a look into auto's future?
GM chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner announced Tuesday that the automaker will close four truck plants, including two in the U.S., and scale back on the manufacturer of trucks and SUVs as the world evolves toward more fuel efficient cars.
Also on the docket is a possible sale of the Hummer brand, which Volt electric car from GM by 2010.
