Corrosion detection transmitters

By Plant Engineering Staff February 14, 2007

CorrTran corrosion detection transmitters provide multivariable outputs with a single transmitter, including general and local corrosion rates as well as conductivity via a two-wire-loop powered 4—20-mA signal with HART protocol. The latest family of CorrTran transmitters uses a new algorithm of the linear polarization resistance, harmonic distortion analysis and electrochemical noise measurement for accuracy. The transmitters automatically calculate and update the Stern-Geary value due to changes in other process variables to maintain corrosion monitoring accuracy. New models feature the same design and dimensions as earlier versions and can be retrofitted to older units.
