Chrysler bankruptcy could be short, painful

U.S. officials are continuing to work to provide Chrysler with the funds to make its announced bankruptcy on Thursday a short one. Even as administration officials work to finalize a deal with Italian automaker Fiat on a merger, they are predicting the Chrysler bankruptcy will not last longer than 60 days. Still, the impact on suppliers could be devastating, further complicating an already tenuous domestic auto market.
