ASHRAE launches redesigned Website

With a focus on ease of navigation and new technology, the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers last week unveiled its redesigned Website, www.ashrae.org .

The improved site is a cornerstone of fulfilling the society’s new strategic plan, which calls for sustainability leadership, world-class educational programs, a raised public profile and global access to technical information. The site’s simpler design incorporates a technology that will integrate with a new member database that is scheduled to go live this fall, allowing members to access subscription management tools for eLists and newsletters, and providing an account history for events, purchases and dues.

“The ASHRAE Website is the key component of the society’s strategy to provide membership service and technical information to the industry,” said Steve Comstock, director of publications and education. “With the new technology incorporated into the site, our members and key audiences will be able to access crucial information faster and with greater ease.”

Members will have access to a MyASHRAE section, where they will be able to use the site to reflect their specific interests. Members also can sign up for e-mail updates when updated content has been added to a particular section, and a lost password function will allow users to quickly retrieve forgotten passwords.

The upgraded site will also include a redesigned bookstore, scheduled for member access upon its completion in December.
