Engineering Associate, Advanced Technology Services, Peoria, Ill.
AAS Electrical Engineering, Lake Land Community College; BS Electrical Engineering Technology, Southern Illinois University, Carbondale
Curiosity led Tyler to the engineering field. As a child, he accidentally received a mild electrical shock, and he was fascinated by the fact that a wire looks the same whether it is live or not, which inspired him to learn more about electrical properties. Tyler went on to receive an associate degree in Electrical Engineering from Lake Land Community College, and then later earn a bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering Technology from Southern Illinois University. While earning his degrees, Tyler participated in a leadership development program and was highly involved in community service. His leadership and teamwork skills transfer over into his professional life as well; as an Engineering Associate at ATS, Tyler builds new systems, handling all aspects of complex projects from concept to design through finished system deployment. Serving as the onsite 3D printing expert, Tyler finds creative ways to solve complex problems, contributing significantly to the company’s success and advancement. He continues to innovate within his field and make impacts on the next generation. He coaches a high school FIRST robotics team, which he led to the global championship in his first year.
