Brian Gapske, 36

Software Engineering Team Leader, RedViking, Plymouth, Mich.

BS Electrical Engineering, Kettering University

As a child, Brian was always taking electronic things apart to see what was inside and playing around with computers whenever possible. After graduating from Kettering University, Brian worked to become a leader in the software and electrical engineering fields. Soon after joining RedViking, he initiated the development of a software platform for the company’s dynamic test machines. In addition to being an excellent manager and mentor to his team, Brian has taken on additional leadership roles inside RedViking. Through the controls/software steering committee, he has helped the company on the integration and development of key processes such as source code and drawing control. Under Brian’s leadership, his team created a highly configurable and reusable software platform that, when combined with RedViking’s test machines, provides fully repeatable and traceable testing capabilities. This system is offering dramatic cost savings and quality improvements in multiple industries, but it’s especially noteworthy for helicopter repair and overhaul. In his spare time, Brian enjoys cycling. Once a year, he and his friends spend a week bicycling from campground to campground in northern Michigan.
