Dorn’s intelligence, self-motivation, and professionalism has allowed him to be successful in multiple roles within Victaulic, including his present day position as the project/maintenance manager in manufacturing. Dorn began his career at Victaulic in 2007 in the rotational engineering program and has rapidly advanced throughout the company while undertaking various leadership roles. Over the years, he has served as a cost reduction team leader and municipal operations facility manager to his current position. With a strong understanding of U.S. operations, Dorn has been instrumental in implementing effective process improvements that have enabled Victaulic to achieve major savings for the company while boosting productivity, improving manufacturing output, and enhancing on-time product delivery for Victaulic’s customers. His determination and guidance are proven when he researches, purchases, and implements best-in-class manufacturing capital equipment that enhances operational efficiency. Dorn is very skilled in process improvement, including finding ways to secure local efficiency gains and manufacture products close to customers. Outside of work, Dorn has a strong passion for locomotives, specifically fixing and performing maintenance on steam trains. He volunteers at several tourist railroads, donating his time to keep these legendary machines on the rails for young children to enjoy.When he is not working on trains, Dorn likes spending time with family and friends. He prefers being outdoors and active. He can be found at a park or playground with his wife and two children, out on the river in his kayak, or riding dirt bikes and four wheelers with friends.
