World Standards Week arrives in Washington mid-October
Meetings, forum discussions and networking events all planned as part of the four-day event.
In celebration of World Standards Week 2007 , the American National Standards Institute will offer a series of forums, networking events and ceremonies Oct. 15-18, in Washington, D.C. The week’s schedule of events includes the ANSI Company Member Forum/NAM Manufacturers Network, the 2007 ANSI Legal Issues Forum, the ANSI Annual Awards Reception, Banquet and Ceremony and the ANSI Annual Business Meeting and Luncheon.
Also in conjunction with the festivities, ANSI will also host a series of events for the institute’s four member forums. Offered free of charge to ANSI members, the member forum meetings allow ANSI member representatives to network and address issues of mutual interest. The ANSI Joint Member Forum will be held on the morning of Thursday, Oct. 18.

Annual Salary Survey
Before the calendar turned, 2016 already had the makings of a pivotal year for manufacturing, and for the world.
There were the big events for the year, including the United States as Partner Country at Hannover Messe in April and the 2016 International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago in September. There's also the matter of the U.S. presidential elections in November, which promise to shape policy in manufacturing for years to come.
But the year started with global economic turmoil, as a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing triggered a worldwide stock hiccup that sent values plummeting. The continued plunge in world oil prices has resulted in a slowdown in exploration and, by extension, the manufacture of exploration equipment.
