What were your best ideas for surviving the recession?
Plant Engineering to highlight time- and money-saving tips
The August issue of Plant Engineering will feature ideas that manufacturers can use for a quick return on investment. Maybe it's a low-cost solution you've implemented or a strategic idea that doesn't cost anything but time. Either way, we're going to run that list, and we'd like your contribution.
All submissions will be included, and we'll credit you and your company. It's a great way to deliver some great ideas to Plant Engineering 's global readership. Send your ideas through our new Plant Engineering page on LinkedIn (and join us while you're there), or send an email to BVavra@cfemedia.com

Annual Salary Survey
After almost a decade of uncertainty, the confidence of plant floor managers is soaring. Even with a number of challenges and while implementing new technologies, there is a renewed sense of optimism among plant managers about their business and their future.
The respondents to the 2014 Plant Engineering Salary Survey come from throughout the U.S. and serve a variety of industries, but they are uniform in their optimism about manufacturing. This year’s survey found 79% consider manufacturing a secure career. That’s up from 75% in 2013 and significantly higher than the 63% figure when Plant Engineering first started asking that question a decade ago.
