The hardest job in America to fill?

No surprise. It's engineer -- again

By Bob Vavra June 5, 2009

Forbes magazine is reporting that, for the second straight year, engineer is the leading job where there are more openings than candidates.

The magazine quotes Larry Jacobson of Manpower Inc. as saying, "Companies are looking to replace more than half of their engineers over the next eight years, because baby boomers are retiring," Jacobson says. "When you have 80,000 engineers working for you, as Lockheed Martin does, that’s a lot of jobs."

Engineering is followed by nursing, technician, teacher and sales rep in the Forbes Top 10 list .
