Tenneco will close four plants and eliminate over a thousand jobs

Tenneco, a US-based manufacturer of automotive emission control and ride control systems, announced that it plans to eliminate 1,100 jobs worldwide, close five facilities, four in North America, and implement other cost reduction actions in order to reduce structural costs and capacity.

Tenneco , a US-based manufacturer of automotive emission control and ride control systems, announced that it plans to eliminate 1,100 jobs worldwide, close five facilities, four in North America, and implement other cost reduction actions in order to reduce structural costs and capacity. Expected to generate more than $64 million in annual savings after implementation, Tenneco is expected to close the company’s Milan elastomer facility in Ohio and the Evansville original equipment emission control facility in Indiana. Additionally, Tenneco plans to accelerate working capital improvement opportunities, significantly reduce, and re-prioritize information technology spending; cut aftermarket marketing and sales expenses and implement other SG&A cost reduction actions.
