Spectrum Engineers announced that Kurt Dallinga, acoustical and technology engineer, was named a top young professional in Engineering News-Record (ENR) Mountain States magazine’s 2011 Top 20 Under 40 issue.

ENR’s Top 20 Under 40 program recognizes young professionals, under the age of 40, in the AEC industry who have “earned the respect of their peers and the industry by taking on responsibility and leadership roles within their firms and contributing to the growth and health of the industry.” Dallinga said that he is proud to be included among such high-caliber professionals working in the Mountain States region.

Dallinga joined Spectrum Engineers in 1998 as an intern engineer, Dallinga was made project technology engineer upon graduating from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering in 2000. In 2009, he was promoted to associate-principal technology and acoustical engineer. He is currently writing his thesis for a Master of Science degree in acoustical engineering from Penn State University.

Dallinga has provided technology systems design and acoustical engineering for hundreds of projects. Among his proudest achievements was designing cutting-edge audio-video and voice/data systems for what many consider a chance-in-a-lifetime project: the restoration of the historic State of Utah Capitol, which was rededicated in 2008 and has won many national and regional engineering and design awards.
