RoHS, WEEE, REACH, and EuP explained in white papers offered by Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA).
Originating from a seemingly unlikely source, a new series of white papers
is aimed at manufacturers and suppliers of electronics, medical devices, toys, and other products. The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is making these white papers available to help manufacturers keep up with new laws and regulations developing around the globe, as regions, countries, provinces, states and cities introduce their own measures designed to clean up the environment and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Each paper summarizes the main laws governing product import, distribution, packaging, labeling and recycling or end-of-life disposition, with special attention paid to restricted substances such as lead, mercury, hexavalent chromium, and cadmium. The full detail and documents are posted as they emerge on TIA's environmental intelligence analysis service online, EIATrack .

2012 Salary Survey
In a year when manufacturing continued to lead the economic rebound, it makes sense that plant manager bonuses rebounded. Plant Engineering’s annual Salary Survey shows both wages and bonuses rose in 2012 after a retreat the year before.
Average salary across all job titles for plant floor management rose 3.5% to $95,446, and bonus compensation jumped to $15,162, a 4.2% increase from the 2010 level and double the 2011 total, which showed a sharp drop in bonus.
