Hannover Messe will be hosting many special presentations at the 2010 event, scheduled for April 19-23 in Hannover, Germany. There are a limited number of gold passes to the 2010 Hannover Messe that have been made available exclusively to Plant Engineering readers.

The gold passes provide access to the fairgrounds and the exclusive Premium Lounge at the fair. Interested readers can contact Plant Engineering editor Bob Vavra at BVavra@cfemedia.com for more information on obtaining the passes.

The 2010 event features nine international trade shows and a series of educational forums and leadership discussions to address some of the major issues facing manufacturing around the world today.

The 2009 Hannover Messe, conducted in the midst of one of the worst recessions in memory, attracted more than 200,000 attendees from around the world. The 2010 Hannover Messe is expected to be the world’s largest trade fair for manufacturing and industrial knowledge.

The fifth World Energy Dialogue picks up the exciting debate where past events left off. In 2010, senior executives from the international energy industry and politicians will be discussing key issues such as “What’s going to happen when the oil runs out?”, “How will we power our cars in the future?” and “How do we keep the wheels of industry turning?”

In 2009 the central theme of the World Energy Dialogue was “Security of the Energy Supply.” The growing demand for energy worldwide is forcing us to look for new solutions in energy generation and distribution.

The declared aim of this international energy summit is to send a clear message %%MDASSML%% and give a strong lead %%MDASSML%% to industry and business around the world.

The winner of the 2010 Energy Efficiency Award will once again be given for exemplary projects in business and industry that make a real contribution to improving energy efficiency.

The Job & Career Market offers the full range of recruitment activities. Companies from various sectors will be providing detailed information about career opportunities, while personnel officers from big-name companies will be on hand to offer careers advice and pass on details of internships and work experience placements.

Annual Salary Survey

Before the calendar turned, 2016 already had the makings of a pivotal year for manufacturing, and for the world.

There were the big events for the year, including the United States as Partner Country at Hannover Messe in April and the 2016 International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago in September. There's also the matter of the U.S. presidential elections in November, which promise to shape policy in manufacturing for years to come.

But the year started with global economic turmoil, as a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing triggered a worldwide stock hiccup that sent values plummeting. The continued plunge in world oil prices has resulted in a slowdown in exploration and, by extension, the manufacture of exploration equipment.
