Opening easily

Problem: Threaded containers such as gasket forming compound, glue, etc. end up with the caps sealed to the container because of residue left on the threads. The next step is to use pliers to open the container, which eventually deforms the edges.

Problem: Threaded containers such as gasket forming compound, glue, etc. end up with the caps sealed to the container because of residue left on the threads. The next step is to use pliers to open the container, which eventually deforms the edges. Can this problem be headed off?

Solution: After opening a new can or bottle, coat the threads with a little lubricant. Grease, oil, or anti-seize compounds all do the job. The cap will not stick to the container during storage.
