New MES player gets funding

Performix Inc. has closed on the first round of venture financing from two early-stage funds, and will bring its xMES for SAP on the market. Company officials called it a move to deliver an ‘out of the box’ MES product. Reports stated the venture capital funding was for $1 million.

“MES products have remained relatively unchanged for a number of years,” said Blair Garrou, managing director of DFJ Mercury and Performix board member. “However, companies are demanding MES products that have lower total cost of ownership, quicker install times, and provide less functionality overlap with their existing ERP infrastructure.”

“With the support of DFJ Mercury and RPM Ventures, Performix has the funds and strategic counsel that will propel us to the next level,” said Sham Afzalpurkar, founder, president and chief executive officer of Performix, Inc. “We are employing a maniacal focus on serving SAP customers, specifically in the pharmaceutical, high tech and process verticals, and initial feedback has been very positive. We expect to be able to show early traction in these areas over the next few months, and anticipate rapid growth over the next 12 to 18 months.”
