New enclosure design cost less and does more
By Control Engineering Staff
Springfield, O. -Rittal's new TS8 enclosure system cost 20% less, is 30% stronger and 15% lighter than Rittal's PS 4000 family of modular enclosures. The TS8 enclosure system is the result of several years of intensive R&D efforts to create a new 'standard' in enclosure systems. TS8 standard enclosures have designed in EMI protection, full enclosure bonding without cables and straps, meet Zone 3 seismic requirements, and incorporate a symmetrical design that allows enclosures to be placed side-by-side, front-to-back, in a corner, or any imaginable configuration. Where 'all around' access is required, TS8 enclosures can accommodate four doors, or hinged sidewalls. The unique patented TS8 design even allows sidewalls to become heat exchangers.

2012 Salary Survey
In a year when manufacturing continued to lead the economic rebound, it makes sense that plant manager bonuses rebounded. Plant Engineering’s annual Salary Survey shows both wages and bonuses rose in 2012 after a retreat the year before.
Average salary across all job titles for plant floor management rose 3.5% to $95,446, and bonus compensation jumped to $15,162, a 4.2% increase from the 2010 level and double the 2011 total, which showed a sharp drop in bonus.
