Muller honored with ASHRAE award
Chris Muller, technical director for Purafil and a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers for 12 years, was recently awarded the ASHRAE’s Distinguished Service Award.
Chris Muller, technical director for Purafil , was recently awarded the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers’ Distinguished Service Award. Muller, a 12-year ASHRAE member, serves as a distinguished lecturer for ASHRAE and as chair of the ASHRAE Standard Committee 145P, which was charged with the task of engineering the ASHRAE Standard 62.1. Additionally, he remains involved within the organization as a voting member of several committees and as a co-author of the ASHRAE Standard 62.1-2004 user’s manual.
Muller is a 20-year veteran of Purafil and is responsible for technical support services and specific research and development functions. He has written and edited more than 100 articles and technical papers on environmental air quality and gas-phase air filtration applications, many having been published by industry media.

Before the calendar turned, 2016 already had the makings of a pivotal year for manufacturing, and for the world.
There were the big events for the year, including the United States as Partner Country at Hannover Messe in April and the 2016 International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago in September. There's also the matter of the U.S. presidential elections in November, which promise to shape policy in manufacturing for years to come.
But the year started with global economic turmoil, as a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing triggered a worldwide stock hiccup that sent values plummeting. The continued plunge in world oil prices has resulted in a slowdown in exploration and, by extension, the manufacture of exploration equipment.
