MESA International moving forward

New association model, Website unveiled at Plant2Enterprise Conference

MESA International kicked-off its annual Plant2Enterprise conference in Orlando, FL this week by announcing some significant — and positive — changes to the organization. During a special press conference on Monday, Sept. 17, MESA introduced both new membership options and unveiled a newly-redesigned association website.

MESA announced that it will now offer a free basic membership option for individuals who would like to take a deeper look at the organization and access the research available through its member network. Basic members may download any one whitepaper from the MESA.org website, as well as submit whitepapers, post job opportunities and appear in the website’s member listing. Basic membership will also enable individuals to receive MESA newsletters and serve on one of the association’s operating committees.

Further enhancing the organization’s ability to get its message heard by a broader audience, MESA also unveiled a newly-redesigned website which offers a cleaner, more intuitive interface and easier access to the volumes of information available through the organization. The new site also serves as a central hub for content generated by and for MESA’s growing global community of members, which will hold the first European conference in the Netherlands next month.

During one of the luncheons I had an opportunity to speak with some members of MESA’s end-user community and they offered some interesting insights into why they have decided to play an active role in the organization. One individual, representing a large global aircraft manufacturer, indicated that MESA offers an exceptional opportunity to gain greater visibility, insight and influence in the development of standards and best practices which will help to improve their business and ensure that representatives from MESA’s solution provider community understand their “real world” challenges.
