Managed services: RedTail Solutions EDI-enables Microsoft Dynamics GP
RedTail Solutions offers three new modules for its managed EDI service for Microsoft Dynamics GP . According to RedTail CEO Bob Gleason, “Our managed EDI service is the right answer for Microsoft Dynamics GP users who want an integrated EDI solution with low cost of ownership.”
New capabilities include the following:
Support for conducting EDI with suppliers: Automatic generation of an outbound EDI purchase order (850) transaction from the POP module in Microsoft Dynamics GP enables purchase orders entered into Microsoft Dynamics GP to be translated via RedTail into the outbound 850 transaction and transmitted to EDI enabled suppliers. Invoices (810) received from suppliers can be reconciled against EDI purchase orders.
Enhanced ASN generation: Users will now be able to generate outbound advanced ship notice (856) transactions based on completed shipment or open order information from the SOP module in Microsoft Dynamics GP.
Support fro remote warehouse management systems and third-party logistics providers: Users will be able to automatically generate an outbound warehouse shipping order (940) transaction from the SOP module in Microsoft Dynamics GP, enhancing process control and accuracy.

Before the calendar turned, 2016 already had the makings of a pivotal year for manufacturing, and for the world.
There were the big events for the year, including the United States as Partner Country at Hannover Messe in April and the 2016 International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago in September. There's also the matter of the U.S. presidential elections in November, which promise to shape policy in manufacturing for years to come.
But the year started with global economic turmoil, as a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing triggered a worldwide stock hiccup that sent values plummeting. The continued plunge in world oil prices has resulted in a slowdown in exploration and, by extension, the manufacture of exploration equipment.
