Maintenance bypass cabinet
Enable integration of power transformation, power distribution, and maintenance bypass into a single cabinet with the maintenance bypass cabinet from Eaton. The cabinet is compatible with manufacturers' rack-based UPS and allows personnel to perform service, testing, and maintenance on a full rack of UPS equipment without interrupting power to the critical load. The unit incorporates a TP-1 transformer to step down utility power from 480 V to 208/120 V, to provide electrical isolation and appropriate UPS input voltage. Its freestanding design is intended to ease installation, and provide flexible access and deployment.

The respondents to the 2014 Plant Engineering Salary Survey come from throughout the U.S. and serve a variety of industries, but they are uniform in their optimism about manufacturing. This year’s survey found 79% consider manufacturing a secure career. That’s up from 75% in 2013 and significantly higher than the 63% figure when Plant Engineering first started asking that question a decade ago.
