Lighting partnership may lead to energy savings
Advanced Control Technologies has announced a partnership with the Lagotek Corp for work on a new building intelligence system.
Control lighting manufacturer Advanced Control Technologies (ACT), based in Minnesota, has announced a partnership with the Lagotek Corp. The deal will allow Washington-based Lagotek to use ACT products in their new Building Intelligence System, which can manage lights, HVAC, and windows to maintain energy efficiency.
ACT's StandAlone and controlLED Lite tubes will be used in the item for a variety of features, including energy-reducing dimming controls. The ACT products will focus on allowing LED lighting control to maintain efficiency in small and medium-sized commercial applications, according to PR NewsWire .

Before the calendar turned, 2016 already had the makings of a pivotal year for manufacturing, and for the world.
There were the big events for the year, including the United States as Partner Country at Hannover Messe in April and the 2016 International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago in September. But the year started with global economic turmoil, as a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing triggered a worldwide stock hiccup that sent values plummeting. The continued plunge in world oil prices has resulted in a slowdown in exploration and, by extension, the manufacture of exploration equipment.
