Labelmaster, a provider of products for the handling and shipment of dangerous goods, announces the formation of Labelmaster Services, Inc., which will provide dangerous goods packing, consulting and other hazmat-related products.
Labelmaster , a provider of products for the handling and shipment of dangerous goods, announces the formation of Labelmaster Services, Inc., which will provide dangerous goods packing, consulting and other hazmat-related products to shippers, freight forwarders, manufacturers and distributors in the United States. Labelmaster Services is expected to start operations in October 2007 with the opening of a dangerous goods packing facility in the Chicago O'Hare area.
"We see the need for shippers, freight forwarders, manufacturers and distributors to be able to handle dangerous goods shipments safely and conveniently,” said Alan Schoen, COO of Labelmaster Services.
Pia Jala joins Labelmaster Services, Inc. as vice president of operations after serving as global manager of dangerous goods for Atlas Air and Polar Air Cargo.
“Pia brings unsurpassed experience and expertise in shipping dangerous goods by air internationally," said Dwight Curtis, president of Labelmaster.

Before the calendar turned, 2016 already had the makings of a pivotal year for manufacturing, and for the world.
There were the big events for the year, including the United States as Partner Country at Hannover Messe in April and the 2016 International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago in September. There's also the matter of the U.S. presidential elections in November, which promise to shape policy in manufacturing for years to come.
But the year started with global economic turmoil, as a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing triggered a worldwide stock hiccup that sent values plummeting. The continued plunge in world oil prices has resulted in a slowdown in exploration and, by extension, the manufacture of exploration equipment.
