Janka named AMT chairman at annual meeting

Association elects new board members for 2009-10

Daniel Janka was named chairman of AMT at its annual meeting on Oct. 23 in Orlando. Also elected were board members and other positions for the association, which represents more than 400 American manufacturers of machine tools, manufacturing machinery and related products
Janka is president of MAG Global, Hebron, KY. He follows Ronald F. Schildge , president of Eitel Presses, Inc., Orwigsburg, PA in the chairman’s role. Schildge will serve the association as an ex-officio member of the board of directors, along with Doug Currie, President and CEO, Erie Press Systems, Erie, PA.
The board elected Eugene R. Haffely, Jr. , Chief Operating Officer, Assembly & Test Worldwide, Inc., Dayton, OH to serve as first vice chairman in the coming year. Also elected was Timothy B. Dining , President & CEO, Greenerd Press and Machine Company, Inc., Nashua, NH, to serve as second vice chairman and treasurer.
Kim W. Beck , President and CEO, Automatic Feed Co., Napoleon, OH will continue to serve as Secretary.
Newly elected to a three-year term as a member of the association’s Board of Directors is Steven R. Stokey , executive vice president, Allied Machine & Engineering Corp., Dover, OH. Carl Reed , President and CEO, Abbott Workholding Products, Manhattan, KS., will return for a three-year term.
Before joining MAG Global, Janka was president of Cincinnati Technologies. He holds a B.A. in industrial engineering and technology from Southern Illinois University. He also attended the American Management Association’s Curriculum for Presidents and the University of Cincinnati’s Advanced Management Program.
