Invensys to host asset performance and management symposium
Experts from the company’s Avantis unit will discuss ways to manage and optimize the asset base.
Intended for manufacturing, corporate, maintenance, operations, reliability and engineering managers who want to optimize their asset base, Invensys will present a symposium featuring two maintenance and asset performance experts from its Avantis unit. The event will be held at the Omni Houston Hotel in Houston on Oct. 31.
In a series of three presentations, attendees will hear how the journey to achieve asset performance and reliability excellence begins with establishing sound fundamentals in terms of business practices, organization effectiveness and well deployed informational tools to support them. They will learn about key business opportunities and issues that are driving changes in industry and the implications of these trends for asset condition management for increased profitability, and how to achieve total enterprise asset performance management - from plant floor to the boardroom.

Before the calendar turned, 2016 already had the makings of a pivotal year for manufacturing, and for the world.
There were the big events for the year, including the United States as Partner Country at Hannover Messe in April and the 2016 International Manufacturing Technology Show in Chicago in September. There's also the matter of the U.S. presidential elections in November, which promise to shape policy in manufacturing for years to come.
But the year started with global economic turmoil, as a slowdown in Chinese manufacturing triggered a worldwide stock hiccup that sent values plummeting. The continued plunge in world oil prices has resulted in a slowdown in exploration and, by extension, the manufacture of exploration equipment.
