Wireless sensor manufacturer Libelium seeks engineers to respond to survey on advanced control protocols to enhance control systems, specifically on hybrid wireless sensor networks.
Engineers responsible for systems integration and control systems engineering are encouraged to respond to a new survey aimed at clarifying which process and advanced control protocols are essential for future hybrid wireless sensor networks. The survey, being carried out by Spanish wireless sensor device manufacturer Libelium, asks which industrial, automotive, lighting and home automation protocols are currently being used, and which ones are most preferred for future sensor network deployment.
Libelium, which produces customizable sensor boards that collect and share data across a wireless platform, will use the findings to ensure their forthcoming hardware module enhance control systems engineering tasks as all protocols relevant to industry practice will be included.
“Our survey makes sure that systems integrators will be able to capture and make full use of the extensive data capacity available on our sensor boards by enabling the creation of hybrid wireless sensor networks combining existing industrial protocols and Zigbee/802.15.4”, said Libelium CEO, Alicia Asin Perez.

After almost a decade of uncertainty, the confidence of plant floor managers is soaring. Even with a number of challenges and while implementing new technologies, there is a renewed sense of optimism among plant managers about their business and their future.
The respondents to the 2014 Plant Engineering Salary Survey come from throughout the U.S. and serve a variety of industries, but they are uniform in their optimism about manufacturing. This year’s survey found 79% consider manufacturing a secure career. That’s up from 75% in 2013 and significantly higher than the 63% figure when Plant Engineering first started asking that question a decade ago.
