Diff-Tranz heat-transfer compound increases the efficiency of platen heaters by maximizing their contact with the vacuum diffusion pumps on which they are installed. The compound fills gaps between the irregular surface of the pump’s boilerplate and the smooth surface of the heater, ensuring uniform transfer of heat to the boilerplate. Applied with a putty knife, the compound withstands temperatures of up to 1,250 F. Formulated for Diff-Therm platen heaters, the compounds are available in more than 110 combinations of sizes, shapes, electrical ratings and bolt patterns to replace virtually all makes of vacuum diffusion pumps.
