Aaxeon's multi-port RS-232 and 2-port RS-232 + 1 port parallel Express Serial Cards will replace the MSC-204A1 and MSC-202ALP. Courtesy: AaxeonAaxeon released its 4-port RS-232 and 2-port RS-232 + 1-port parallel Express Serial Cards to replace their already existing products the MSC-204A1 and MSC-202ALP respectively.

The MSC-204A2 provides 4 high performance 16C950-type UART compatible RS-232 serial ports. It features a 1-chip solution for PCI Express boards to increase throughput and reduce CPU loading. The MSC-202ALP1 PCI Express I/O adapter provides 2 high performance 16C950-type UART compatible serial ports and bi-directional parallel ports. Both are designed for a PC, thin client, or server to provide instant COM port expansion via the PCI Express Bus (PCIE).

The new multi-port serial cards still retain all the benefits of its predecessors, providing increased throughput, reduced CPU load, serial bus speeds of 250 Mbytes/sec to 4 GBytes/sec, full plug-and-play compatibility, serial power over Pin-9, and no IRQ or I/O address conflict problems.

These new revised multi-port serial card versions provide the scalability to quickly adapt to new PCI Express technologies allowing the user to still add serial and parallel connectivity when necessary.
