. (Chatsworth, CA) has an environmentally sealed, 2-slot 3U CompactPCI enclosure that provides flexibility and performance. In addition to rugged environmental properties, the compact, lightweight E192 incorporates a modular and removable power supply, making it suitable for harsh mechanical, climactic, chemical, and electrical stresses encountered in rigorous embedded applications.

The environmentally sealed design of E192 protects board components from external stresses. The enclosure houses standard ANSI/IEEE 30.1-2002 conduction-cooled 3U compact PCI and PMC modules. The chassis base plate is also conduction cooled, allowing dissipation of over 50 W at 71 °C (160 °F), while maintaining a maximum 14 °C (25.2 °F) difference at the card edge. The enclosure features a 28 V dc power input per MIL-STD-704 with an EMI/EMC-compliant power input filter, plus a backplane I/O transition module to support customized front panels designed for circular MIL-C-38999 or other connectors, thus increasing user flexibility. Pricing for E192 starts at $9,995.

(Cleveland, OH) has released VisionCab, a highly stylized, versatile steel cabinet rack that features a See-Thru removable front door. The enclosure is an all-in-one unit with built-in components, such as an exhaust fan, that typically would be ordered separately. The company says that VisionCab addresses a growing trend among commercial and industrial equipment OEMs, for whom a stylish enclosure can help differentiate products in the marketplace. VisionCab is suitable for housing a variety of 19-in. panel-width and EIA-310-compatible equipment, in applications such as monitoring functions in computer rooms, control centers, test stands and communication centers for telecom, medical, security, and other industries.

The SeeThru removable front door with clear acrylic window is useful for monitoring equipment in medical applications or security installations, company says. Solid steel rear and side panels remove for access for maintenance or swapping out equipment. Features include four adjustable L-shaped mounting rails with square holes on EIA spacing with rails able to accept either #12-24 or M6 cage nuts. Four adjustable L-shaped support angles aid in mounting chassis or supporting heavy equipment. Externally, there are mar-resistant feet on the bottom surface and a smooth black powder-coated finish. Measurements: 21.77 in. of usable inside cabinet rack depth with a maximum mounting rail spacing of 18.70 in. Sizes include 15.29, 20.54, 25.79, 31.04 and 36.29-in. heights with standard 23.62-in. length and depth. Panel space heights are 10.50, 15.75, 21.00, 26.25 and 31.50 in.

Manufacturer's suggested retail pricing starts at $168.70 for single units.

(Glen Burnie, MD)a hinged enclosure with several latch configurations. Type 6 and 6P are 6 feet (1.8 m) submersion ratings for 1 and 24 hours, respectively. Type 12 and 13 ratings add protection from oil and non-corrosive coolants. Larger Arca sizes have additional ratings and are now rated Type 4, 4X, 12, and 13.

Arca enclosures are manufactured using injection molded polycarbonate. The stylized electrical enclosures offer easy customization, durability, excellent chemical resistance, and wide temperature range. Standard interior enclosure sizes range from 6 x 6 x 4 ft D up to 14 x 12 x 7 ft D. The stylized cover’s overlapping design provides protection of the formed-in-place polyurethane gasket. Mounting plates and fixed and hinged inner panels are available in metal or non-metallic versions.

Annual Salary Survey

Before the calendar turned, 2016 already had the makings of a pivotal year for manufacturing, and for the world.
