EC: SolidWorks 2013
Software - Control design: SolidWorks 2013 is a comprehensive 3D design solution that empowers innovative design with application specific tools that help users quickly define, share and validate the form, fit and function of their designs. This is a Control Engineering 2013 Engineers' Choice Award winner.
SolidWorks 2013 combines ease of use with broad customization, allowing new users to learn quickly and experienced users to become more productive with previously complex and sophisticated tasks. Building upon previous versions, SolidWorks 2013 offers updated applications for 3D design, simulation, technical communication, product data management and sustainable design.
Engineers and designers often struggle to bring their ideas and products to market in a timely manner. SolidWorks 2013 makes it easier to bring ideas from concept to manufacturing with more than 200 customer-driven enhancements that empower innovation at every step. New products and tools bridge engineering and manufacturing with easier creation of complex models, more efficient simulation, and expanded environmental and cost analysis for more effective decisions that result in simplified designs, reduced mistakes, and faster time to market.
Users can create complex geometries faster and easier with true conic surfacing and intersect feature formation with new drawing tools, and benefit from enhanced documentation capabilities and automated outputs for manufacturing. SolidWorks 2013 also includes tools to help users optimize the performance of their SolidWorks installation, and maximize design team productivity. For example, the new CAD Administrator dashboard allows users to simplify management and troubleshoot multiple SolidWorks users within the company from a single aggregated view.
To address the dispersed nature of most design teams, SolidWorks 2013 optimizes collaboration with improved connectivity, enhanced viewing capabilities and expanded sharing of designs and data. Ultimately, SolidWorks 2013 allows for better, quicker innovation process that will impact every new product it touches. Companies of all sizes can use this simple, but powerful package to bring their product vision to life.
