InduSoft Web Studio v7.0 — InduSoft Web Studio v7.0 is a truly unique development and runtime software that incorporates all the tools users need to create SCADA HMI applications, dashboards and OEE interfaces. This is a Control Engineering 2011 Engineers' Choice (EC) nominee.This highly flexible package allows users to develop applications once, and then deploy on any supported Microsoft operating system, including Microsoft Windows CE, Windows Embedded, Windows 7, and Server editions. InduSoft Web Studio (IWS) provides access to data from anywhere, including PCs, embedded devices, mobile devices, and remote web browsers. InduSoft Web Studio includes over 240 drivers for all major PLCs. IWS offers new OPC UA communication as well as OPC Classic (DA and HDA). New security features integrate with Microsoft Active Directory, to ease deployment. Easily connect to any SQL database, and new configuration interfaces for FTP and SMTP allow you to quickly send alarms and reports to e-mail, smartphones, or a printer.    -Easy to use: IWS was always easy to use and now it's even easier. Our new ribbon interface features logical tool/object grouping, and the ability to open multiple documents simultaneously. Investment protection: Develop once and deploy everywhere. Annual Salary Survey

After almost a decade of uncertainty, the confidence of plant floor managers is soaring. Even with a number of challenges and while implementing new technologies, there is a renewed sense of optimism among plant managers about their business and their future.

The respondents to the 2014 Plant Engineering Salary Survey come from throughout the U.S. and serve a variety of industries, but they are uniform in their optimism about manufacturing. This year’s survey found 79% consider manufacturing a secure career. That’s up from 75% in 2013 and significantly higher than the 63% figure when Plant Engineering first started asking that question a decade ago.
